Who’s it for?
Bespoke 1-2-1 training is for any cyclist looking to improve their fitness and race results. We are experienced in training riders racing MTB, Road & Cyclocross events and also non-competitive recreational riders.
What’s Involved in 1-2-1 Coaching?
The aim of 1-2-1 coaching is to help you to achieve your bike riding goals, that may be race results, but it could also be improving fitness for health and enjoyment.
Part of this process is training guidance in the form of a training plan. Mentoring support will also help you improve technically, tactically and psychologically.
Why choose Michael Guilford for 1-2-1 coaching?
All coaching is delivered by Michael Guilford , who is an experienced by racer and coach. Michael will hone down on the key elements for you, maximising improvement. He has an open, encouraging style of coaching, and endeavours to adapt to riders from a wide range of sporting backgrounds.
Qualified with British Cycling as a Level 3 Road & MTB coach, he has 100s of hrs of relevant coaching and bike racing experience.
Whats the coaching process?

- Evaluate Progress
Performance coaching is usually delivered using Training Peaks online platform, with face to face coaching support when required, as per the package selected.
What technology and anlysis do you use?
First of all, dont feel you need to go out there and buy a powermeter or other fancy monitoring kit. Michael is from a background of engineering science so is more than capable of using various monitoring and analysis tools, such as Training Peaks WKO5 suite and HRV data analysis.
However, for most riders who haven’t been coached before, they will make the most progress in their fitness by training consistently, with appropriate challenges for their discipline. The good old stopwatch is a vastly underated tool!
Off the bike Strength & Conditioning
Strength and conditioning is an effective way of improving robustness, avoiding injury, developing movement skills and increasing maximum power ability. This can be included as part of the training package and will be delivered by Adam Copley.
