Farmer John’s Bikepark
Designed for 11-16 year olds, this course focuses on developing skills to progress on downhill trails with jumps and berms.
Jumping Progression Skills
- Widening the foundation jumping skills, to clear & safely land jumps at a range of speeds.
- Boosting steep jumps at a slow speed
- Riding faster on flow trails for downhill/enduro racing.
- Turning over jumps – riding hips, scrubbing, transferring on jumps.
- Linking berms and jumping in/out of berms
- Steezey flow riding. Tricks & style on flow trails.
- Riding gap jumps & step downs
Prerequisite Skill Level
It is important you are at the right level to attend this course. You need to be able to do the following as a minimum. This is only a rough guide so if you’re not sure please contact me first.
- You can consistently clear a 3x bike length table top jump
- You can consistently clear the rollable features at farmer johns (this is most of the jumps but not inclduing the gulley gap, the big step down & the 50 to john line)
- You can bunny hop over something wheel hub height, on flat ground.
- You can ride a wheel height drop smoothly

What to bring to your coaching session
- A mountain bike in full working order
- Full face helmet and gloves
- Other protective clothing or equipment that you would normally use for a MTB ride. Knee pads are recommended.
- Flat pedals/shoes are required

Suitable clothing
Please wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions. This is not a continuous ride, so long sleeves, warm layers and a waterproof jacket are essential. I can carry your extra layers.

Minimum Booking Numbers
I need a minimum of 3 booked on this course to be able to run it. If I am unable to run the course for this reason I can offer a refund or a place on a different date.
Farmer John’s Bikepark Entry Requirements
Farmer John’s Bike Park is a privately owned venue, which im not affiliated to.
- There is an entry fee to the venue which isnt included in the cost of this sessions. This is £12 for non members or £2 to members.
- You also need your own full face helmet to ride there. There arent ones to hire.
- Parents/guardians need to complete a waiver on site when you sign your child into the venue.
