Booking

All bookings are taken via the website, Rideabout.co.

Cancellation by client

Cancellations by the client before 14 days before the course date are refundable, minus a 20% administration charge.
Cancellations by the client within 14 days of the course date are transferable to another rider (on their agreement) but are non-refundable.

For 1-2-1 private bookings, sessions can be rescheduled once only, to a different time/date. Rescheduling must be a minimum of 72 hours before the session. A new date/time is subject to availability.

Cancellation by Rideabout

In all circumstances Rideabout will endeavour to make sure your day goes ahead as planned. In the unforeseen event of a course cancellation Rideabout will refund 100% of course fees or a course date transfer.

Cancellation due to weather/unforeseen circumstances

We do not cancel sessions due to bad weather, unless the conditions would make the session dangerous eg gale force winds, snow which covers the ground, or the venue being flooded.

Personal details and data collection

Payments are made using an approved secure system and details will not be retained in the system once the order has been processed.

We require you to register your personal data in order to make a booking so we can contact you should there be a problem with your order. Please ensure you check details provided for accuracy so we can ensure effective communications with you.

Important information: Insurance

Rideabout accepts no liability for personal accident, loss or damage to personal equipment of clientele participating on a course. As mountain biking is a hazardous sport we recommend that all participants take out personal accident insurance.
Participants take part in courses at their own risk and they must abide by the rules laid down by the instructor at the present time.

Medical and fitness

When booking on a course it is your responsibility to make sure you are at the minimum fitness level required stated in the course information area. You are required to read and tick the participant declaration when booking a course.

You are responsible for riding within your capabilities at all times. You will never be asked to ride anything you are not comfortable with. When booking on a course please check the prerequisite skill level required for the course. If you are unsure please contact me. We reserve the right to deny participation in activity if you are not at the required prerequisite skill level.

If you have a disability which may affect the suitability of activities, please contact us before booking on a course. Within our training and the remit of the course we will accommodate your needs but in some cases we may be unable to do this. If so, we will suggest an alternative course, offer a private booking or refer you to an alternative coach who has the resources to accommodate your needs.

Personal equipment

Bike – It is your responsibility to make sure your bike is both serviceable and safe. All bikes will be checked by the instructor prior to the course commencing. If you are unable to take part due to your bike being an unsafe condition then you will not receive a refund.

Personal protective equipment – Helmets must be worn at all times. Gloves, knee and elbow pads are at your own discretion.

Helmets must be an approved kitemark helmet and be in visibly good condition with no cracks or faults with the straps.

Appropriate cold/wet weather clothing should be brought to the session.

Venues and timings

Rideabout provides basic information in order for you to get to the venue where your course will take place. It is your responsibility to ensure you get to the venue on time. If you have any doubts about the meeting point, please ensure you contact me before the course starts.

You are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before your session starts. Sessions will start on time and if you arrive late and miss the safety briefing you may not be able to join the session. If you book a private session and are late, you will forfeit part of your session. For example, if you book a 3 hour session but arrive an hour late, your session will be the remaining 2 hours.

If you are unsure about any of the Terms and Conditions, please contact me with your concerns.

We recommend that all participants take out personal accident insurance. Participants take part in training prescription at their own risk.

 Medical and fitness

When taking part in prescribed training it is your responsibility to inform Rideabout of medical information or disabilities which may affect your ability to complete training sessions safely. We are not able to offer medical advice and if you are unsure whether the training prescription will affect any existing medical conditions, you should seek advice from a doctor before taking part.

Personal equipment and safety

All riders participating in prescribed training must complete a Rider Information and Consent.

It is your responsibility to ensure any equipment you use while completing training is safe to use. We recommend wearing a helmet at all times whilst cycling.

Riders will be required to perform sessions without the supervision of a coach, so for riders under the age of 18, the parent/guardian/carer will be entirely responsible for their safety in such circumstances.

It is the rider’s responsibility to manage their safety when completing training sessions on the road or off-road. If you are unsure whether you are capable of safely completing the prescribed training session, you should seek advice from the coach before proceeding.

When riding on the public highway, riders should be able to do so in a safe and competent manner. It is recommended that the rider should at least one of the following:

Other information

All riders participating in prescribed training must complete a Rider Profile Form or equivalent. Riders are required to provide feedback to the coach regarding training, racing and any other factors that are likely to affect their cycling performance. This feedback is fundamental to the coaching process and the coach may cease to provide training prescription when not provided.
