MTB Fitness | Training for MTB Enduro & Downhill
Gravity mountain biking is a physically demanding sport, yet many riders dont do specific training to improve their strength & fitness.
MTB specific training programmes can help you improve your strength & fitness, develop technical skills, and achieve results. You dont have to be a competitive rider to benefit from a training programme. With proper guidance you can manage weight, recovery and avoid injury.
Training plans are delivered via Training Peaks and can be changed to fit around your schedule. I don’t use ‘off the shelf’ training plans. And this is not just training for fitness. Training sessions are designed to be technically demanding as well.
Strength and conditioning
Strength training is useful for mountain bikers, to build robustness & movement skills. Strength plans are included in all packages. Riders are required to take part in a face-to-face strength training session - this is to check your technique and ensure you’re approaching the plan safely. If you are not local, this can be done remotely or by another coach.
