Master the key skills and techniques to ride manmade flow trails with jumps and berms.
- Pumping: Learn how to pump to gain more speed on trails and master your jumping technique
- Soaking and squashing: Learn how to manage speed and grip
- Jumping: Build on the core movement skills of jumping, managing momentum to clear jumps
- Berms: Develop cornering skills to carry more speed through berms
Things to consider
It’s worth completing the Core Techniques and Whistlestop Skills courses, or a 1.5 hour private session before signing up (or equivalent with another coach). It will help you get the most out of this course.
You must be confident at riding red graded trails, and physically fit to ride for a day.
This course is suitable for adults and children over 11 years old. Parents or guardians of U16 need to stay within 30mins of the session, in case of accident or emergency.
What to bring to your coaching session
- A mountain bike in full working order
- Helmet and gloves
- Other protective clothing or equipment that you would normally use for a MTB ride. Knee pads are recommended.
- Flat pedals/shoes are required
- Suitable warm clothing. The locations can be exposed and you’re not riding continuously

Minimum Numbers
If the course does not get sufficient bookings (2 riders), I may have to cancel the course. I’ll give you as much notice as possible, and offer a refund, transfer the booking or offer a credit off a 1-1 session.
