In this video I am interviewing Ian Wrightson of Seventy9 Sports Therapy, learning about how we can mitigate injuries caused by mountain bike crashes.

Ian’s background is in collision and power sports, so he knows all about how to manage injuries caused by big impacts.

How can we reduce the risk of serious injuries from mountain bike crashes?

  • Learn to fall over
  • Increase robustness

Why is it important to tuck and roll when you crash?

  • Reduce serious shoulder injuries by landing on the back of the shoulder, keep arms tucked into the body
  • Increase shoulder robustness by strengthening rotator cuff muscles
  • Pre and post injury management
